Hot Meal Provision

Pioneer Catering - Hot Meal Provision

From September 2021, school lunches for pupils attending St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School will be provided by Pioneer Catering.  With an industrial kitchen located less than half a mile from the school site, Pioneer Catering are able to provide lunches that are freshly prepared and cooked on daily basis.

Producing over 500,000 children’s meals across the last 9 years has helped the Pioneer Catering team to gain a clear understanding of children’s and parents’ expectations when it comes to providing high quality, healthy school lunches.

What makes up a school lunch?

A substantial and healthy main meal (such as a roast dinner, pasta bolognaise or curry dish), with access to fresh salad items as a complement. This is followed by a daily dessert (such as flapjack, cake or mousse).

Every child registered for school lunches will receive a meal based on their individual dietary requirements (including allergies or intolerances) with a vegetarian alternative provided daily.

How much do school lunches cost?

For children in Key Stage 1 (Reception, Year 1 & Year 2) – school lunches are entirely free of charge, due to funding via the government’s Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM) scheme.

For children in Key Stage 2 (Years 3 to 6) – school lunches can be provided at a cost of £2.50 per day.

How do I register my child for school lunches?

Please complete one separate form for each child you would like to register.

Alternatively – if you have any questions or require support – you can contact Pioneer Catering’s office on 01444 411388 or catering@pioneerchildcare.co.uk.
